"Dave Fox's writing is hilarious. It's rare to find a person who has such unique stories to tell and can write about them to boot."

Prices and Accommodations
Here's What You Get for Your Money

Brad Cilley at Northwest Travel Service has negotiated some great deals with Oceania. And we know that two people might want to travel together even if only one is interested in journaling classes, so we're offering a variety of pricing options.

Here's what's included:
Airfare, tax and fuel supplements from most US and Canadian gateways
Accommodations aboard the Insignia
Travel journaling seminar with Dave Fox. (The seminar will include at least six classes — a combination of lectures for the full group, and smaller writing workshops.)
All meals and entertainment aboard the ship
Brazilian visa
Port taxes
Cruiseline fuel surcharges
Welcome cocktail reception
Prepaid gratuities for 16 days at sea (a value of roughly $180)
A shipboard credit of $200 per cabin for the first 30 cabins to reserve

Here's what's not included:
Alcoholic beverages
Shore excursions
Personal purchases
Pre- or post-stay packages. If you do want to arrive early in Rio or stay longer in Barcelona, however, Northwest Travel will offer some special deals, to be announced soon.

Here's what it all costs:
Prices below are per person based on double occupancy in a cabin. Availability is limited, and the cheaper cabins are expected to sell out quickly. If only one of the two people sharing a cabin wishes to participate in the writing classes, the person who does not take the classes will receive a $200 discount.

If you are traveling alone, please check with Brad at Northwest Travel for prices. You can either pay a single suppliment for your own cabin (which unfortunately may be quite expensive, due to the cruiseline's pricing policies), or Brad is also keeping a list of single travelers interested in sharing a cabin. You can reach Brad via e-mail at brad@nwtravel.com, or call (425) 313-1691.

Prices below include round trip airfare from most US and Canadian cities — a fantastic deal considering you must fly into South America, and home from Europe. However, if you prefer to make your own travel arrangements, you may deduct $1,050 per person from the prices below.

The following information about airfare is from Northwest Travel's website:
The air program offered by Oceania is an excellent value. If you elect to fly on the air program provided by Oceania, there are restrictions which you need to be aware of. They assign your air schedule based on their contracts with various carriers, which are heavily discounted. If you would like to request a specific air carrier, there is a fee of $100-$150 per person, assessed by Oceania. If you choose to extend your stay on either end of the cruise, there are no additional fees, provided you utilize the hotel programs offered through Oceania. If you extend independent of the hotel option, deviation fees apply to the air program. These fees have been between $150 and $200 with previous groups.

Full price information, cancellation fees, etc., are outlined on the Rate Information Page on the Northwest Travel website.
